Sculptshare

Sculptshare is an AR app that gives a space to allow amateur/undergrounds artists to bring light of their own work out into the world.

  • HOW DOES IT DO IT? - Users are invited out into an open world view through their camera that then gives them a variety of tools to use. These tools will then allow the user to paint or sculpt any form of art they’d like, where they’re manipulated through gestures to act as both sculpting and paintbrush, creating an art piece as they’re moved and manipulated across the screen, before saving the finalized piece out into the real world where the artwork will be stabilized in a certain location that can only be reached when facing the camera in the direction towards it. Users are then able to go into a “view only” mode as way to capture the experience and art of others all around the world.

  • WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SOMETHING LIKE THIS? - The target audience would be those interested in art experiences, or amateur/underground artists, who would like to bring more awareness of their work out to the world.

  • WHEN AND WHERE MIGHT THE TARGET AUDIENCE USE THIS APP? - Since the app is solely done in AR, it could be used anywhere in the world as long as the user has a workable camera and specs to help get the artists name and work out and known.

  • WHY SHOULD PEOPLE USE THIS APP OVER OTHER OPTIONS AVAILABLE? – Although there are similar apps on the marketplace, Sculptshare is unique as there aren’t any AR apps that allow a space for sculptors; as it offers an encounter that is one of a kind, it would be popular with artists, activists, and thinkers, as well as the marginalized.
  • WHAT IS THE GOAL? - The goal of Sculptshare is to bring awareness of underground/amateur artists, through the use of allowing the individual to create their own virtual AR artworks to implement anywhere around in the world that can be viewed by anyone who has the app.
Thus, Sculptshare is an app experience that is both artistic and facilitates awareness. By bridging the gap between art and technology, Sculptshare creates an Interactive Media Design that encourages the creative artist in all of us.

In this project I contributed as a project manager and designer developing the wireframe.

When it came to creating the wireframe, I applied my knowledge of past experiences creating GDD's and gave the process a similar outlook. I wanted the audience to be able to understand thoroughly in each step what the application will be doing and how the user experience will be depending on each screen the user is on.

Creating a step-by-step outlook on the project allowed not only myself but the team the ability to make sure that we are all on the same page and can articulately know where we are sending each step within the app in order to avoid confusion or misinterpretation to the user when using the application.
When developing the wireframe, I wanted to make sure each page showed clearly and articulately what our application was intending to do. I took to creating this in Adobe Xd which allowed me to achieve this goal. I create detailed images and even a small "prototype" playthrough of each button selection and where it would send it off to.
